Flares Bar in Newcastle

Flares is a 70's theme bar that was formerly known as Circus Circus and is one of the most lively bars in the Bigg Market scene. The decor is a mixture of bright coloured patterns with psychedelic flashing lights - very 70s. There is a metallic bar that runs the length of the pub with plenty of bar staff at all times - no problems with service here. The bar staff are all dressed in 70s glitter style outfits with wigs and flares. A party atmosphere most of the time with some of the staff dancing by the windows and behind the bar. There are 70's fixtures everywhere you look with revolving platform shoes, stars, guitars and cylindrical glass balls on the ceiling.
Regular music is on play with a DJ located in a booth. He is often dressed in the 70's John Travolta style suit. There are tons of TV's with some games machines. The bar has a large standing area with a few tables nearby. At the rear there is a small seating area that is half carpeted and has leopard skin chairs. Near to the door there is a raised dance floor area where resident dancers perform at evening times.
